    MATERIALS & CARE

Notes on Washing: To extend the life of the garment and for best performance, close all zips including pocket zips. Use a small amount of non-scented LIQUID detergent and gentle wash at a temperature below 40º Celsius. DO NOT use powder detergents, fabric softener or chlorine bleach. Powder detergents include artificial scents, UV brighteners and abrasives that will reduce the life of the garment. Warm tumble dry, or line dry after washing.

Care after every use: Clean or wipe down any dirt, blood, or sweat. Ensure your rainwear layer is fully DRY before you store it away. Ensure that the environment where you store your garments is in a dry damp-free place. Ensure rainwear items are hanging up and not stored in a cram bag or screwed up in a heap.

Durable Water Repellency (DWR): If you notice that the water is not beading off the outer surface it’s time to replenish the DWR. Wash your garment through a standard wash cycle (use liquid detergent), then you can wash it again using an in-wash DWR replenisher (at 30°C) OR a spray on DWR replenisher. Dry the garment at a LOW temperature in a tumble dryer or air dry.

I owned my jacket for 3 years and recently used it during a rainy day, i ended up getting wet while wearing it. Today i dried it out and have noticed that i can see parts of the inside lining have perished so i poured a bit of water on a patch and its about as waterproof as a paper towel. Waste of money👎

I live and hunt on the South Islands West Coast, occasionally in alpine canterbury and Fiordland (the later when I can draw a block - not often in recent years!). This jacket looks to be the gears for the foul weather sometimes experienced in these locations. It is a good fit, reasonably quiet and long enough to keep the water out of your jocks. Just hoping it lives up to its reputation.

I have used my jacket for both hunting and farming and it always keeps me dry. Love the face shield when it's cold and wet.

Brought my second Glaisnock jacket I’ve tried other jackets the only one that’s any good on those wet Fiordland days

The only jacket to take when heading to Fiordland only jacket I’ve used that can handle that much rain well worth the money

Used the Jacket out in the bush hunting deer and when the weather turned nasty with frontal rain and wind in the east cape of NZ I was super dry as we decided to walk out and head for the shelter of tent base camp. This is definitely the best "top layer" for the wind and water proof layering system of Stoney Creek gear. Bought it one size larger than my shirt size so it was a comfortable wet weather cover over the warm dry layers beneath. Lots of features that kept me dry and wind protected through severe weather warnings that weekend.

This jacket has not lived up to the hype....jacket was hardly used and all the waterproof seams have come apart and now leak. It is out of warranty but a jacket of this price should go the distance.

Hi Becca, we're gutted to hear that you havent had a good experience with the Glaisnock Jacket. Did you get in touch with our customer support team. As we would have loved the opportunity to discuss your experience and usage of the product with you and done our best to try get to the bottom of this gear failure. From our experience with technical rainwear, seams and ultimately seam tape has a potential to fail after time if the technical rainwear is not used in accordance with the care instructions. Mainly being 1) do not hot wash or hot tumble dry (as this may melt the glue) or 2) the jacket is not regularly washed (on a cold wash and air dried) following any heavy usage where dirt, sweat, blood or bacteria may have gotten in contact with the seams. The worst thing for a technical rainwear item is to be used, sweated in, and not cleaned. As overtime that sweat and bacteria has the potential to break down the glue which holds the seam tape together. Once that seam tape is damaged, your seams are exposed and that is where potential water ingress can come from. Without being able to inspect your jacket, we cannot really comment further with any certainty. Thanks for providing feedback, good or bad, we're always listening. Cheers, Brendon

As mentioned in other ratings coat leaks though the flaps and therefore the zip, epecially if u are sitting down in the rain for a time.

Hi Peter, thanks so much for your review and passing on your feedback. Have you been in touch with our repairs team so that they can assess the jacket. If you would like to you can go to this page on our website and fill in our form www.stoneycreek.co.nz/warranty-and-repairs-application.html. Many thanks, The Stoney Creek Team

Shooting season starts, I’m out 3/4 days a week in all weather, wanted something that’s not to warm on it’s own but I can use layers to get the right temperature balance, and keep me dry, it definitely does that, very pleased from the isle of muck.

Bit disappointed to be fair. First decent West Coast downpour and water got in through the storm flap and through the zip. So got wet down the line of the zip. Tech team take note - either make the storm flap wider or make it a velcro so water can't get in past the storm flap easily. Or provide a weatherproof zip. Atm rain just blows in if it is consistently from the RHS.

We both love the Stoney Creek Glaisnock rain coat for riding. It's long enough to keep you dry in the saddle but compact and lightweight. Kiwis know how to keep you dry in wet weather!

Borrowed this jacket off my father for a 10 day trip to the lower glasinock for the wapiti ballot. 5 star rating through and through exceptional piece of equipment by far, kept me warm and dry through the harsh elements. Lightweight and quick drying. Stoney creek have outdone themselves on this product and I will be buying one for myself.

Couldn't be more happy with the Glaisnock. All the specific features of the coat described align perfectly with my needs. First serious test of it was a lengthy deluge on the Kaimai tops and it performed flawlessly in keeping the wet out. The length of the coat when moving through dense bush in heavy rain is perfect keeping my shorts bone dry. A top product and entirely happy with my purchase of what is such a well thought out product.

Best jacket I've had, and I've had a few. Whether its duck shooting, in the bush for work, or taking a load of rubbish to the dump in the rain. Keeps me warm and dry no bull.

I've found that the Glaisnock Jacket is second to none as a wet weather Jacket. It's ripstop material and breathable membrane has served me well in the wettest Fiordland conditions, this is extremely important especially on those 10 day missions where it's you against the elements!

I’ve always been a fan of your products but I thought it was time I send you some feedback, just got back from a raft trip on the Clarence, took my Glaisnock, it was miserable and wet coming off the hill under head torch couldn’t see a thing ended up getting caught up in a ton of thick scrub and brier bush. I must say I have never been more impressed than the way your jacket help up, I absolutely pushed that thing to the limit and it pretty much stayed clean (except the blood), while keeping me dry and staying rip free. Just a message to say I’m absolutely impressed/ blown away with how light and still tough it is. Cheers - one very happy customer. Keep up the good work!
